The 15 Safest Cities in Indiana

Did you know the first professional baseball game was played in Indiana? Yes, Indiana is American through and through, and what could be more American than ensuring the safety of our cities, neighborhoods and homes? Indiana does a great job with keeping its cities safe, and you can find the 15 that do it best below.

To create our list of the 15 safest cities in Indiana, we started by excluding cities with a population under 8,000 and those that did not submit a crime statistics report to the FBI. From the remaining cities, we examined the number of reported violent and property crimes in each city through the FBI’s 2014 Uniform Crime Reports and compared them to the city’s population.

With these statistics, we were able to determine how likely a violent or property crime would be per 1,000 citizens. The results are displayed below. Where does your city fall in the list?
